What We Do

Led by its founding Principal, Matthew Giardina, AIA, MBA, NCARB, Moment Architects seeks to be a mentor and advisor to our clients, guiding them through the process of design and delivery.  Matthew uses his experience and education in architecture to meet each client’s aesthetic, functional, and stylistic desires, and he combines his experience managing projects with the techniques he learned in his MBA to ensure that every project meets the client’s specific budget, timeline, and objectives.  Moment Architects works closely with contractors and engineers to deliver a final product that benefits from careful foresight, meticulous attention to detail, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.  Moment Architects is located in The Woodlands, Texas, and does work throughout the Greater Houston Area.

Why We Do It

Everything Moment Architects creates is done through the grace and blessings of God, who is the creator of all things.  With this in mind, Moment Architects approaches every project and every new client with a servant’s spirit, seeking simply to be a conduit through which God’s goodness and love can manifest itself into the visible form of architecture, and into the invisible form of lasting relationships.  Each of our lives on this earth lasts only for a moment, but how we live in that moment will have eternal significance.

Who We Are

Matthew Charles Giardina is a native Houstonian, born in Southeast Houston and raised in Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in the Clear Lake area.  Matthew graduated from the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture at the University of Houston in 2011, with Magna Cum Laude honors.  While working on his undergraduate degree, Matthew had the strong desire to learn about all facets of design and construction, and was blessed with the opportunity to intern with a structural engineer, followed by an internship with a graphic designer.  In the summer of 2010, Matthew had the incredible experience of studying abroad in Italy and traveling through Europe for two months.  Matthew joined the work force immediately following graduation, and continued an informal education in commercial and residential architecture through the tutelage of respected and talented architects, including Allen Bianchi, James Ray, James Evans, David Bucek, and Mark Todd.  In 2014 Matthew came to understand that a true architect is much more than a designer; a true architect is the leader of a multi-disciplinary team. Each member of that team is responsible for different tasks, and the culmination of those individual tasks results in a finished work of architecture.  Sensing the inherent importance and magnitude of the architect’s role as project manager, Matthew decided to return to school to study management.  Matthew graduated from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston in May, 2017, with a Master’s in Business Administration, and certificates in Leadership and Entrepreneurship.  During the MBA program Matthew took several courses focused on Real Estate Development, and in August of 2016 he partnered with a classmate and real estate broker, Ann Tran, to form a real estate development company, Luminous Development Group, LLC.  He is currently the Vice President of Luminous Development Group in addition to being the Principal of Moment Architects, and hopes to have a positive and lasting impact on the City of Houston through the combined actions of the two companies.
